Friend and I are slapping a turbo on this Buick 3800-powered ex-naturally aspirated Pontiac Bonneville SE. Should be fun when it’s done, though it needs moar RWD. Should be good for around 375hp until the trans explodes.

Needs moar mid-mounted.

Can we start an OPPO pool on how long the trans lasts?

Mileage, time, or number of burn outs?

We’ll take 10 mile chunks. I’ll take the first 10 miles.

I think I’ll give it to the 60-70 mile gap.

Love it. Super sleeper.

it’s so tricky but I think we’ll go mileage.
I mean, it may implode on the first burn out. lol
my bet is about 60-70 miles.

I don’t think a bonneville with dark chrome wheels, slotted and cross-drilled rotors, red calipers, and blacked out trim is really a sleeper, lol.

If it’s factory, I’ll take 130 miles. If it’s beefed up, I’ll take 180 miles.

It's tough because if driven fairly gently it shouldn't be too bad. But, I doubt that'll happen so I'm goin for 20-30 miles. I think they'll go easy for the first 10 or so just to make sure the engine doesn't blow and then they'll light it up.

Well it kind of is because nobody really expects these sleds to be fast. Not 375hp fast anyways.

True. The supercharged ones are a hoot, though.

This gen wasn't supercharged. The hot model got the Northstar instead.

Really? I do because it still looks like a old woman’s car at first sight. Trust me, it’s only after it blows by someone does it get checked for details.
